Thanksgiving... Shove It Up Your Turkey~!

So this Thanksgiving thing... I really dislike this holiday... Now to start off, I will point out I don't believe it should be discontinued as a Holiday and no one should observe it. I am merely stating why I can't stand this Holiday.

1.) If you are turly thankful for something and the things in your life, you should be and celebrate them all year long. Not wait for a certain day every year to acknowledge them.

Okay, and now for my personal experience reasons:

2.) I dislike the food that is cooked on this day, so I never get to eat much. No one will let me eat anything big all day so I can have dinner with the family. Then dinner comes and I have probably the smallest Thanksgiving plate of food you've ever seen. A few shredded pieces of turkey (blah), a roll or two, small spoon of creamed corn (like two teaspoons), slice or two of Cranberry Sauce (you know that canned stuff), and a slice of pumpkin pie later. That is it. You see more plate than food...

3.) The cooking of the food. All that food I don't like to eat being cooked at the same time all day with little food in my tummy already? Makes me sick all day long.

4.) The day after... Why in the world does everyone want to shop the day after? I know it is the first shopping day of the Christmas season. But let's think. Oh, I should have done my shopping BEFORE. Oh I see, we want to wait for sales... Maybe I could go next WEDNESDAY?! No... every store has to have their sale on the same day to make big bucks... No... No... I think it would be easier to shop before or a little after. Really I do...

5.) Usually, my mother's parents would come to visit us for this holiday... I can't stand them. Their personalities just grind against mine. I know they mean well, but they don't think before they speak. I just want to slap them... At least they won't be here this time...

Now for a silly reason:

6.) The stupid pilgrims dressed like fruit cakes and should have been eaten by bears or turned into slaves by the mole people... ::someone whispers to me:: Apparently there were no Mole People, so I would like to change that to made into slaves by me.

So anyway, that is my rant on this holiday. Once again, I do not aim at trying to remove this holiday or change anyone else's opinion. Just why I personally do not like being involved in this holiday.

I will say one thing. The only good thing to really come out of this holiday repeatedly is something my mother bakes called a Pumpkin Ginger Bread. Anyone wants the recipie and I will let you have it.
