Ouchies...err... Mateys

Yesterday I left early for work to do a little shopping. And I was dressed like a pirate.... Work told me I could dress like a pirate, and that that day and the next day there would be a contest and the one with the best pirate costume would get a prize.

Thye treaded on my hobby. I busted out old cosplay stuff and threw some old clothes in the middle and I came out with a really good pirate costume. So off to work I go, and wouldn't you know it? I get into a car accident.

See, right off the highway there is this stretch of road with like 8 stoplights down it, before it merges with the freeway or whatever that thing I drive on is. The speed limit is 30, but hardly anyone bothers and people are always zig zagging through it. Well, 2 cars infront of me and myself stop for a light that turned green as soon as we stopped, so we start going again. Just as we get going, some jerk cuts off the dude 2 cars ahead of me.

They slam their breaks, the girl infront of me does the same. I slam on mine and barely miss her. Then the dude behind me slams into me and pushes me into her. So she and I pull into the gas station next to us, and the dude behind me has to push his car.

The girl has no damage to her little beetle, but my front bumper is slightly dented and the A/C wont cool off air anymore. My back bumper is like... ) now instead of |. But a little more curvey... Other than that, no damage. The other dude, his whole front in is smashed in and it'll never run again.

The girl wasn't hurt. I hit my head on the headrest so I had a headache and my neck it sore on the right side, but I woke up this morning so that is good. The dude behind me had a cut on his left arm, but not stitches worthy, and his passanger got a busted lip.

Everyone looked at me funny cause I was a pirate. I explained and they were okay with me after that. Cops came and looked at me funny, so I had to explain to them too. I noticed looks from cars as they drove by... It was funny.

Anyway, girl got to leave, but the dude and I had to exchange info. He knows my brother and works with my mother so he knows where we live and said he'd stop by soon to check on things.

So I go to work and blow everyone out of the water, if you will, with my costume. Everyone else was just in jeans with either a stripped shirt or Pirates of the C. shirt. They had little toy swords, parascope, or eyepatch, and skull&crossbones somewhere on their body. I was the only one that looked like a real pirate. So one girl who got off as I got there said she was going to go buy some costumes for her shift the next day... Not fair.

People loved my costume though... I had a CD hanging from me that said MUZAK cause I was "music/software pirate". It was joke...

THAT'S AWESOME! -- Sorry to hear that you got into a car accident... a similar event happened to my sister not too long ago. I hope you come out of the aftermath unscathed! -- I am very very proud of your pirate-dressing skills. But you must honor me with a photo.
